This is my all time favourite Showalter thing. When I went to his book reading he was asking people to yell out page numbers so well he took someone else’s request I flipped through and found the page for The Apartment to yell out next. (At this point he thought I was trying to read along and waiting for me to find the page without me knowing). He wasn’t sure if he could read it in Chapters. He could.
